IND Hemp And Hempitecture Hook Up

Montana headquartered IND Hemp has announced a supply partnership with an Idaho-based hemp insulation manufacturer.

The partnership between IND HEMP and Hempitecture involves a coordinated supply chain arrangement to produce and manufacture natural hemp fibers for the latter’s hempwool insulation.

Hempitecture HempWool is made up of approximately 92% hemp fiber and 8% textile fiber binder, and has an R Value of  3.69 per inch.  Vapor permeable and hygroscopic, it helps prevent airborne moisture movement, dispersing moisture and helping to protect the surrounding building components.

Insulation is one of the many building applications for hemp.

“Hempitecture’s partnership with IND HEMP represents more than just a critical supply chain solution. It represents the restoration of American manufacturing, the empowerment of rural economies, and forward-thinking innovation in sustainable materials,” said Hempitecture Co-Founder and CEO Mattie Mead.

IND HEMP provides agricultural products and services, connecting American farmers with the pioneers and businesses wanting to better utilise the crop. The firm also manufactures its own products, including hempseed oil, hemp hearts (hulled seed) and protein powder.

“We are excited about Hempitecture’s products and [the] use of natural fiber in construction materials. This continues to showcase how IND HEMP’s products and sustainability benefits can be adopted successfully across a wide range of applications,” said Trey Riddle, IND HEMP chief strategy officer.

IND HEMP is also big on promoting regenerative farming, a practice that involves preserving and restoring the ecosystem of soils.

“Now, with the help of our farmers and industry friends, we are trying to make a difference in repairing the damage to our soil ecosystems,” said President Ken Elliott. “Working with such a great crop and utilizing regenerative farming practices, Montana is well-positioned to lead the next generation of farmers who will change the way this world does business.”

As well as in Montana, the company has partner farmers in Washington and Oregon – and is always looking to expand its relationships.

IND HEMP has a hemp processing facility in Fort Benton, Montana with a processing capacity that will make use of up to 12,000 acres of hemp grain and hemp fiber production per year.
